December 2
12/2 – It was a great weekend to give thanks for our blessed lives - and to be grateful for being an American. We are coming off a hotly contested but peaceful election. Both election security and transparency reached new heights. That should go a long way toward convincing deniers that elections are legit. Economically, we should be thankful for a historically low 4.1% unemployment rate, an economy that’s growing at close to 3%, a median U.S. household income of $84k (est 2024), a 2.6% CPI, and a $3.05 per gallon national average for gas. We are fortunate to live in the best nation on the planet by far. Two of the biggest threats to our American nirvana are extreme politics and fiscal debt. We live in times that call for restraint. We can choose to filter out the divisive nonsense of political TV and media. We can “lead” by our responsible behavior with family, friends, and social media. And, we can still choose not to self-destruct.
