2/4 – Shutdown Update: The USDA is finally getting back on track and Feb 8 is looming as a big day. While Jan’s WASDE report will be skipped, Feb’s WASDE will be released on schedule this Friday. Also scheduled for release on Feb 8 are the Jan crop production reports, the annual crop production report, grain stocks and winter wheat seedings. The Jan cattle-on-feed will be bumped back from Jan 25 to Feb 22; the Feb cattle report from Feb 22 to Mar 8; and the annual cattle inventory report from Jan 31 to Feb 28. The poultry slaughter report due out on Dec 26 was released on Feb 1. The broiler hatchery report (no Jan) will be released on Feb 8. In milk production, the Jan 23 report is bumped to Feb 20; and the Feb 21 report to Mar 12. The Jan 3 dairy products report will be released today.
